Silke Financial Services adopted from Shane and his family a funny tradition for the first day of each month.
- First we say "Pinch, punch, it's the first of the month!"Then we give somebody a small pinch and a light punch on the arm.
- We can only do this on first day of every month, before 12pm. If we follow this by saying white rabbit it means the receiver of the pinch punch can't return the saying and pinch punch us back!
This is a funny little tradition usually only done by kids or younger spirited people.
It is believed to have Originating from old England times when people thought that witches existed. People thought that salt would make a witch weak, so the pinch part is pinching of the salt, and the punch part was to banish the witch. The witch would be weak from the salt so the punch was to banish her.
So to you: "Pinch punch, it's the first of the month - White Rabbit"
Have fun and here’s to next month shenanigans! |
